Employee social responsibility: Maria Prokhorchuk implements a project

06.10.2025

Every day of our reality brings new challenges and anxieties, but at the same time, opportunities to show humanity and resilience. At such moments, it becomes clear that true value is not only in professional achievements, but also in how we can support each other.

A striking example is the initiative of our Mariya Prokhorchuk, head of the electricity supply department at Eco-Optima Group. As a participant in the WOWoman programe, Mariya had the opportunity not only to get involved, but also to gain support and funding for the socially important Balance project, which aims to support teenagers during periods of emotional and social upheaval.

Together with the parish of St. Andrew the Apostle and St. Josaphat of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Lviv, about 30 teenagers aged 12–17 will be invited to participate in the project, along with over 90 members of their families.

The goal of the Balance project is to promote the psychological and spiritual development of adolescents through a series of psychoeducational sessions. The project program includes seven psychoeducational meetings that combine psychological knowledge with Christian values. Young people will discuss important topics: understanding and expressing emotions, overcoming anxiety and managing anger, developing self-esteem, friendship and conflicts, the influence of social networks, and finding spiritual resources in difficult life circumstances.

Expected results: teenagers will learn how to better understand themselves and their emotions, master techniques for overcoming stress and anxiety, develop healthy communication skills, and form stable spiritual guidelines. After the grant support ends, the project will be continued by the parish, and the initiative will be developed in cooperation with charitable organizations and educational institutions to reach even more children and young people.

Social responsibility should become the norm in our society.

"I sincerely believe that every child deserves a space where they will be heard, understood, and supported. The Balance project is a step toward helping teenagers find inner strength and develop as individuals, despite the challenges that life presents them with. Today, when teenagers especially need support in their development and education, we must create opportunities for them that will strengthen their resilience and faith in the future," said Mariya Prokhorchuk.
