How does Eco Optima Group operate during the war and what is happening in the green energy sector today?

15.01.2025

The value of “green generation” of electricity for Ukraine is very high, because in addition to preserving the environment, “green generation” makes it possible to significantly diversify the risks of terrorist attacks by Russian aggressors on our energy infrastructure. Unlike thermal or nuclear generation capacities, which are compactly located, “green generation” is distributed over significant areas and consists of many generating components that are practically impossible to destroy simultaneously.

One of the sources of “green generation” is wind power, 70% of which was located in southern Ukraine before the war. Unfortunately, as of 2025, this region is mostly under temporary occupation. To replace temporarily lost capacity, Eco Optima group, in cooperation with Czech partners, successfully built and launched a new wind farm in Western Ukraine during the war, supplying electricity to the Ukrainian power grid since September 2024.

The Eco Optima Group managed to implement the project, despite significant difficulties and additional costs. Due to the aggressor's military actions, many foreign contractors refused to provide equipment for the project. Thus, the Eco Optima Group was forced to invest additional funds in a unique 600-ton crane, which is specially designed for installing wind turbines at a height of 100 meters and higher.

With its activities, the Eco Optima Group makes a significant contribution to the development of a successful energy-independent Ukraine.
